WADE "JUNE" WORLEY MILLER, JR

Wade “June” Worley Miller, Jr. 94 of Big Stone Gap, VA passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, at Lee Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pennington

Gap, VA where he had been a resident. Affectionately known as June, he was born August 21, 1931, to Una and Wade Miller Sr. 

Wade was a long-time member of the Legion Memorial United Methodist Church in Powell Valley.

Wade graduated Valedictorian from East Stone Gap High School and Emory and Henry College with honors. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Virginia. He began his teaching career in the Wise County School System in 1954 and taught at Powell Valley High School until his

retirement in 1989.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Nema Sue Poole

Miller of Big Stone Gap, VA; His parents, Una and Wade Miller Sr; four brothers,

Marvin Miller of Big Stone Gap, VA, Billy Miller of Xenia, OH, Charles L. Miller

of Big Stone Gap, VA, and Bobby L. Miller of Big Stone Gap, VA; one sister Anna

Sue Vines of Little Rock, AR; and his daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Miller of

Knoxville, TN.

Surviving are his son, Timothy Miller of Knoxville, TN; his daughter, Marla

Bolling and husband Kenny, of Pound, VA; his (Sister)-in-law, Geanne Poole

Masters and husband/brother-in-law, Dale Masters of Big Stone Gap, VA; brother,

Walter Miller and wife/ sister-in-law, Brenda of Big Stone Gap, VA; four

grandchildren, Amber Davis and husband Shawn of Knoxville, TN, Justin Miller

and wife Tara of Nashville, TN, Jaret Bolling and wife Nicole of Norton, VA, and

Erik Bolling and wife Katie of Youngsville, NC; seven great-grandchildren, Trevor

Davis, Parker Davis, Drake Bolling, Oliver Bolling, Ivy Miller, Quinn Miller, and

Rocky Miller; and a special friend, John Gillis of Lee Health & Rehab Center in

Pennington Gap, VA.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, CNAs, and staff of the West

Wing at Lee Health & Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care, kindness,

compassion, and love shown to Wade during his time there.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Holding Funeral Home

in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. The family received friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.,

with the funeral service following at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home’s chapel. Steve

Maddox officiated.

A committal service was held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Powell Valley.
