CREWMAN II

The Town of Wise is accepting applications for a full-time Crewman II position in the Water and Sewer Department.  Duties include, but are not limited to the following:  water and sewer system construction and maintenance, equipment operation, assistance with utility inspections, repairs and testing, leak detection and maintenance of fire hydrants and valves.  Occasional duties include street and sidewalk construction and snow removal.  

  High school diploma or equivalent required along with a valid Virginia Class A or B CDL driver’s license.  Experience in operation of heavy equipment; knowledge of basic mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work and excavation trenching techniques.  Must be able to work outdoors in all weather and perform physical labor.  Ability to read maps and construction drawings and prior experience in public works or utilities and Virginia Flagger Certification are a plus.
