CYNTHIA "ANN" FLETCHER

Cynthia “Ann” Fletcher, a Roanoke, VA resident since 1994, died at her home on Thursday, April 24, 2025. She was 91.
Born in Norton, VA in Wise County, Ann graduated in1951 from Wise High School (now called J.J. Kelly, Jr. High School). She moved to Daytona Beach, FL in 1963 and worked for the next eight years on the NASA Space Program as an employee of General Electric. In l971, Ann moved to Washington, D.C. where she was employed by the United States Congress for 23 and a half years, including several Members of Congress and as a special assistant to the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives. Working with that office on the Inter-Parliamentary Union meetings required her to travel to several foreign countries.
Ann moved to Roanoke after her retirement in 1994 where she was a Member of the Windsor Hills United Methodist Church and the “Barr-None” Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Lee Fletcher; her niece, Brenda Caudill and her husband, Butch Caudill, of Big Stone Gap, VA; and her nephew, Lee Alan David of Roanoke.
Ann is survived by two sisters, Betty Jean David of Salem and Virginia Carol Fletcher of Falls Church, VA; a nephew, Mark Alden David of Salem, and his daughter, Hannah Mae David; a niece, Carol Ann David Munoz her husband, Lt. Colonel Manuel Munoz, and their son, David Alden Munoz of Stafford, VA; and Arbutus Fletcher, wife of the late Billy Lee Fletcher, and his daughter, Pamela K. Sargent of Wise, VA.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA. Condolences may be shared with her family at www.Oakeys.com.
