HEARING - 2025-2026 Budget of the Norton City Schools

PUBLIC NOTICE

     The City Council of the City of Norton, Virginia will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, May 20, 2023, at 5:00 PM in the Municipal Council Chambers located at 618 Virginia Avenue, N.W., Norton, Virginia.  The purpose of the hearing is to solicit input on the 2025-2026 Budget of the Norton City Schools which totals $15,505,018.00. The Proposed School Budget includes the Operational Fund in the amount of $14,002,254.00, of which $3,463,706 is locally appropriated funds, the Textbook Fund in the amount of $431,003.00, of which $30,128 is locally appropriated funds, the Early Retirement Plan Fund in the amount of $44,522.00, the Food Services Fund of $981,289.00, and the Capital Project Fund of $45,950.  Copies of the proposed budget are available for inspection Monday through Friday between 8:30 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. in the City Manager’s Office. All attendance and comments at the meeting are encouraged and welcome.
